Prepare your child for his/her upcoming year in kindergarten. We engage the students through shared reading, rhyming, alphabet, and word games, along with math activities that build number sense and pattern knowledge. Build a bottle rocket that can soar 200-300 feet high! Applying the principles of aerodynamics and Newton’s Laws of Motion, participants will learn how objects, such as a rocket, move through the air can be stabilized and enhanced. They will personalize their own bottle rocket with a theme of their choice, such as Superman or Apollo, and take it home! We will also discuss how space travel works and the possibility of being the first humans on Mars!  $224

In this engaging, hands-on robotics camp, students learn to program the powerful Edison robot to perform a variety of autonomous tasks. Chock-full of sensors, this small, but mighty robot can be trained to respond to lights and sounds, follow lines, avoid obstacles, and even work interactively with other Edison robots. The week culminates in exciting BattleBots elimination rounds! $305

Math: Developing computation skills and understanding basic math processes are the major components of the math program. At the first class meeting, students are tested and a personalized plan is developed for each student. Upon completion, a final report is prepared that includes goals achieved and areas needing further attention. 

Reading: Students learn to be active participants in the reading process while focusing on comprehension and decoding skills. The program includes: vocabulary development; book analysis and discussion; summary writing and main idea identification; conclusion, and inference skills. $495 (Two weeks)

Entering Grades K-8

This camp is open to beginner and intermediate players. Students learn chess strategy and tactics, as well as etiquette. Sign your budding chess player up for multiple sessions, because a new topic is taught during each session, and each week, throughout the summer. Depending on your child's ability and knowledge of the game, the instructor individualizes lessons so that all chess players are learning, being challenged, and playing at their level. The class is taught by National Master and five-time Denver Chess Champion Todd Bardwick . $310

In this week-long writers’ workshop, beginning and experienced writers alike will learn new techniques for crafting poetry and fiction, and all will present their work aloud at a daily Open Mic event. Through writing games, exercises, and revision techniques, participants will build skills to help them craft plot, character, and dialogue, as well as sharpen their ability to use tone, description, and figurative language. Young writers will conclude the week with a collection of prompts, drafts, and polished pieces, and we will compile a literary magazine featuring the best of the week’s work! $216

Kids experience the fun of combining coding and engineering. Each participant works with a school laptop and with Scratch, an MIT-developed coding language for young people. Campers use Scratch to create their own video games, musical devices, and interactive art. Next, they use craft materials to build physical devices to control their digital creations. For example, they build their own joysticks out of egg cartons, tin foil, wire, and popsicle sticks, or they build their own keyboards out of mat board, tinfoil, and clothespins. Finally, they get friends and teachers to try out their games and devices. To connect Scratch with the physical world, campers work with the PicoBoard from SparkFun Electronics. Three MindDance teachers provide inspiration and support as kids create and share their work. Participants experience a warm and social learning community that is hands-on, challenging, and fun. Are you ready for Kindergarten? This camp is taught by a current Kindergarten teacher to prepare in-coming students for the school year. Using Dr. Seuss books and rhymes, the new kindies begin to learn their alphabet, sight words, and have the endurance to be in school for the whole day. Reading is a skill that takes time to be built; reading fun Dr. Seuss books encourages students to enjoy reading and begin to recognize patterns and sounds, skills necessary to be ahead in Kindergarten. The camp is filled with reading and fun crafts to reinforce their learning. As Dr. Seuss says, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” $400

Paper airplanes have ignited the imagination of young people the world over. Flying their planes farther, higher, and for longer are recurring goals for many children, and we hope this camp keeps that spark alight! Campers learn various folding techniques and plane designs, from which they conduct test flights and friendly competitions. Campers learn the value of details such as a "snub nose" or the "Nakamura lock" in their planes, with the ultimate goal of acquiring several plane-folding designs that are sure to entertain for days on end! $230

During Reading Adventures, campers spend the week working on the five essential components of effective reading instruction: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, based on the Orton Gillingham approach. Campers have large group lessons, as well as breaking into small groups to practice various skills. The reading instruction is tied together through the use of book adventures, activities, crafts, games, and fun projects. $440

Children begin to explore the world of robotics as they build simple animal models that teach the fundamentals of robotic design. Whether learning about sensors while building a fish or alligator, or discovering ways that gears and wheels and axles create movement while building robotic dogs or frogs, your child is sure to have a great time! $285

The Physics and Chemistry of the amusement park come alive in this half day camp. Start by building roller coasters and then design and build other mini rides like a Merry Go Round or Ferris Wheel. Help EggMo survive the Tower of Doom. Then enter our Glow Lab and explore all things glowy and creepy, explore alchemy and make a Golden Penny. You’ll smile from end to end when you join us for this Carnival of Fun. $230

Entering Grades K-4

Get messy investigating the science of our world. We learn about colloids, polymers, solvents, solutions, and chemical reactions, by making ice cream, slime, crystals, lava, and the ultimate bubble recipe. Students have the opportunity to explore the science of color, pigments, and chromatography. Using kaleidoscopes and microscopes we explore the science of light and later delve into the physics of flight. There are also many opportunities to venture outdoors and enjoy nature. $240

Yes, we still make slime and get messy. But there’s more! Let’s explore the connection between magnetism and electricity, learn about potential and kinetic energy using roller coaster tracks, and investigate forces and motion. We also go back in time and explore the Geologic Time Scale, create fossils, identify rocks in the rock cycle, and crack open a few geodes. There are also many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and explore the campus. $240

Social Leadership Camp (Entering Grades 4-7)

We know that social skills are a strong determinant of success and it's never too soon to start developing young leaders through these skills. Leadership Camp helps your child become more confident by helping them be more comfortable in social situations. Topics include first impressions like shaking hands, introductions, eye contact and conversation success. Plus, instructors will explore table manners, party manners, gifts, thank you notes, minding your technology manners, making and keeping friends, and even a few ballroom dance steps. A final instructional meal puts new skills into action. $315

Space the Final Frontier (Entering Grades K-5)

Blast off and reach beyond the sky to explore the Final Frontier on an AMAZING ADVENTURE through SPACE!  Build and launch a solid fuel rocket that goes over 100 feet into the stratosphere.  (Local restrictions may apply)  We will be visiting Planets in our Solar System as well.  Visit the 4th Rock from the Sun, Mars, and design a spaceship capable of landing on the Martian surface.  See the Rings of Saturn.  To join us in our travels, design your own alien as a traveling companion.  Make a comet and play Comet Golf.  We’ll build a telescope that helped us bring the stars closer to us.   Join us and blast off on a fun journey among the stars! $285

Sphero Programming with Swift Playgrounds (Entering Grades 6-9)

Learn to program the robotic ball, Sphero, to do tricks, complete obstacle courses, and create animations! Participants will be introduced to text programming through gaming and interact with Sphero in a 3D augmented environment using various iPad apps. Each participant will be required to bring his or her own iPad or loan one from CA. $290

Join the Science Matters SuperHero dedicated to Fun and Saving the Earth. Design your own cuddly Side Kick, Make Art from the Sun and create a Yummy Treat at the same time. We’ll create a Germinator that makes measuring plants a snap, and design your own Hide-a-Rock. Earth is our Home and we need SuperHeroes to protect it. $285

Tabletop Catapults (Entering Grades K-5)

Throw things...really, really, really far with catapults, trebuchets, and cannons in this half day camp. Build a working tabletop wooden trebuchet to start an exploration of Newton's Laws of Motion, create games with the mini Basketball Catapult, float Flying Frisbees through the Firmament on our Science Matters Golf Course. Take some terrific target practice with a marshmallow gun. We’ll have things whizzing around the classroom for the whole camp. $285

In this exclusive one -week summer camp, students will create their own YouTube channel and use the latest in video edition tools (Adobe Premier) to learn the critical video editing skills necessary for uploading videos that get noticed. This camp teaches one of the most advanced VR design applications in the industry, Blocksmith, which allows students to easily make VR/AR experiences, games, and more, for both desktop and mobile. Students design their own 3D environments and then immerse themselves directly into it with Google Cardboard headsets. This is a one-of-a-kind course offered exclusively by Silicon STEM. $355
